Following the successful transition from Design and Factory Acceptance testing at Lincoln, we are pleased to announce that the project has reached installation stage in Queensland, Australia. One of our Senior Engineers, is currently on site, overseeing the installation process, at this important stage.

The Greenray project scope has been to design and build a full range of control systems, including:

  •  New Turbine Control System
  • New Generator Control System
  • New Motor Control Switch Room
  • New Fuel Control System
  • All new instrumentation
  •  All new Junction Boxes
  • All new Site Cabling

In addition to this, the entire Roll-Royce Avon EAS1 package, including the Gas Generator and Power Turbine have been overhauled, to ensure its longevity for years to come. The package was originally built in 1974 and has been in operation since 1976, providing backup power & black start capability to the power station. After 50 years of service, it was in need of some TLC.

The photographs show some of the dynamic aspects of the installation and refurbishment of the volute, which has suffered from severe corrosion over time.
